In this 8-week acrylic painting course, participants will create a large artwork featuring a fish gracefully swimming through rippling water. The course will begin with an introduction to the essential acrylic painting techniques, including color mixing, brushwork, and layering.
We will start by studying our reference image. Participants will learn how to sketch the basic shapes and outlines onto their canvas, ensuring accurate proportions and placement. The focus will then shift to creating the water's surface, with techniques to depict movement and texture and capture light reflections and shadows.
As we progress, each session will cover different aspects of painting the fish, from building up its colors and textures to adding intricate details that bring it to life. Participants will explore how to use varying brush sizes for different effects, such as soft edges for the water and sharp lines for the fish's scales.
By the end of the course, each participant will have completed a large painting that showcases their understanding of acrylic techniques and reflects their own style and interpretation of the subject. This project aims to enhance confidence in painting with acrylics and provide a platform for creative expression.
